Great Sea Books Ltd
We are a small book-publishing house that helps authors turn a finished manuscript into a printed and digital book.
What we do
Publishing is patient work. At Great Sea Books we read closely, edit with care, and shepherd a manuscript through every stage that stands between a working draft and a book a reader can hold. We work at the pace a good book deserves, and we keep the writer close to every decision.
As an independent house we take on a considered list rather than a crowded one. That means real attention for each title — thoughtful editing, a cover and interior designed to suit the writing, and clear guidance through production and release.
Our work
Four parts of the journey from manuscript to finished book.
-
Editorial & manuscript development
We read the whole manuscript and work with the author on structure, pacing and voice — from a first developmental read through to line editing and a final proofread, so the writing arrives clean and confident.
-
Design & typesetting
Every title receives a cover and interior designed for the book it is. We set the pages, choose type that reads well on the page, and prepare files that suit both print and digital editions.
-
Production & print
We manage the practical side of making a book — proofs, paper and specification, ISBN registration and print coordination — so the finished object matches the intention behind it.
-
Release & distribution
When a book is ready we help it find its readers, arranging distribution for print and e-book editions and guiding the author through a calm, well-timed release.
